Saturday Field Trip - Picard Trade Bead Museum in Carmel, CA

Hi all,

I saw that Carie posted about this in the discussion forum, but I thought I'd send everyone an email in case they aren't checking the forums.

The Bead Society of Northern California is having a field trip "to visit the Picard Trade Bead Museum. Ruth and John Picard have been collecting and dealing with African trade beads for 40 years. The Picard Bead Museum is the only museum in the world dedicated to the collection and study of beads made or traded in Africa. Over 50,000 beads, as well as African art are exhibited in 3,500 square feet of gallery space. The Picards also have a large selection of collector beads and new styles from the Czech Republic for sale in the gift shop."

Here's a link to more info:

NOTE: the DEADLINE for registering is tomorrow! You don't have to be a member to go.

I'm sure we'd all be interested to hear about it if anyone decides to go!
