What we do:
Are you interested in sewing stuffed animals that scream when thrown across the room? Do you want to make a plushie that will dance when it hears music? If you want to combine hardware and crafts then this is the place for you.
As the community grows we can be flexible with how we congregate. Right now we hold events where members can bring their supplies and projects to work on. If you don't have a project in the works that is completely fine. You can use the event as an opportunity to pair with someone, inspire yourself, or skill-swap. Example: you need someone who can use a sewing machine, and in exchange you can offer coding assistance. We will try to have some essentials like a soldering iron, sewing machines, and of course beer.
• Skirt sewn with conductive thread and LEDs
• Stuffed animal that detects the temperature and shivers if it's cold
• Cufflinks or buttons made with LEDs
The world is your oyster, let us help you shuck it. Check out all these crazy sensors for some inspiration.
Who can join?
Anyone! *NO* experience needed in either sewing or hardware to attend, we are a helpful bunch! It's a simple policy: no jerks allowed.
