Contra Dance with Uncle Farmer, with Kalia Kliban calling.

Uncle Farmer is the young, Bay Area dynamic duo of Ben Scheiber on fiddle and Michael Sokolovsky on guitar.  Ben, who started playing fiddle at age three (!), is an amazing, beautiful player, who writes great new tunes with the wisdom of an old geezer.  Michael backs him up with pop rhythms and modern twists, and together they create a sound you can only make when you love playing together.  Watch out!  These guys were asked to play at Catapult! National Showplace in Atlanta over Memorial Day weekend, and with a little national exposure, they might start being a bit harder to find locally!  Check out their website at:

Kalia Kliban will be your caller for the evening, and though she's still relatively new to contra calling, most of us can't figure out why that's the case.  Kalia has spent a lifetime teaching various workshops in traditional dance, and has been a camp favorite for many years.  She has quickly developed a confident, clear, relaxed style, and makes everyone feel comfortable on the dance floor.
