I just got an email from the National Park Service who somehow got privy of our plans to throw a big-ass bonfire out at Ocean Beach this weekend, seriously who squealed?
Anyway, I was informed that if we are expecting to have more than 25 people in attendance I need to apply for a $50 permit before hosting the event. I was also informed that alcohol and glass are both strictly prohibited on the beach and anyone caught with either is subject to citation and 10 years in a Russian gulag.
So with that all having been said, if you are not expecting to attend this weekend can you please update your RSVP so I have a slightly more accurate count of how many of you guys are still looking to come out on Saturday?
I realize the weather just took a nosedive and the forecast for this weekend kind of sucks… BUT! There is an awesome surfing competition happening out at OB right now and Saturday is still showing a fair chance of sunshine.
The plan right now is to play it by ear and if on Saturday morning the weather's looking grim I'll let you guys know if we decide to cancel and push it out to another weekend.
Sorry for the sad news folks.
On a happier note, here's a fun video to cheer you back up just in case you haven't seen it before.
