Life’s Lessons and Insights

What have you learned from your experiences in life, both positive and negative?

What difficulties have you overcome in life? In your work? Love life? Family relationships? What bits of wisdom have you gleaned from them?

What mistakes have you made? Are there things you would do differently if you had the chance?

What have you done right? What are things that you are most proud of? In celebration of Pride Month, what do we as individuals and as a community, have to be proud of?

What has the passage of time taught you? What do you have to look forward to?

How has the experience of coming out changed your life and shaped your viewpoints on life, if at all?

Join us for an evening of sharing our individual experiences in regards to what we’ve learned in life.

It was a pleasant discussion but, having come in hopes of starting some possible friendships, I left empty handed. I also anticipated some intellectual discourse. My small group mostly talked about the gay experience, an all right topic, but not what I expected.

How would intellectual discourse be different?

Ricardo, you should have seen how discussions went last month. They were intense in a really good way.

I really enjoyed this Salon. It was well organized and timely. Richard Suh, is a great facilitator! I was impressed how he both facilitates and engages with the group.

This was an amazing evening for me. The small group I was in tended to discuss matters of a personal nature, not unlike the topics discussed in a support group. Perhaps it was the questions posed: "discuss a positive life lesson learned from a negative experience". All gay men, we all gravitated towards the negative side of being gay in a heterocentric world. Personally, I love the support group atmosphere so this suited me very well.

This will be the first meeting of the salon I will attend. I trust it will be good.

Hi, I've never been to a meeting before and would like to attend. Right now it says 46 attending. That size sounds large. Do you break up into smaller groups? Thanks.

WEWe usually get about 2/3 if those who RSVP as many less considerate don't bother to change a Yes. RSVP.

We do break into small groups for most of the evening and we usually get about 2/3 the number of Yes RSVPs as many less considerate people don't bother to change RSVP if they can't attend.

I'm really looking forward to this conversation. I've only gotten to attend one of these but really enjoyed it and now this one looks equally interesting. Thanks for creating the time and space for this conversation.
