Thanks, Drew, for offering your space.  A meeting in Berkeley would work great for me too, since I live in Berkeley.  I like the idea of having some sort of thought-provoking starting focus, like the Julia Sweeney performance (film?).  I haven't seen it but would plan to do so ahead of time if/when a meeting is scheduled.  And a potluck sounds like a nice idea too.

Best,
Ken

Unfortunately, as I am headed into my second year at seminary, my Wed nights will be booked at least until January. I am always willing to host a Saturday evening potluck event in Berkeley. Have you all seen Julia Sweeney's "Letting Go of God"? It is a fascinating comedic deconstruction of her belief system and is both amusing and controversial. Anyways, I have a great house for a gathering party, so let me know if an adhoc relationship with you guys is possible or if we should try to reconnect in the spring. Thanks,
Drew aka Drucifer

Dear Salon member,
You have indicated your interest in meeting other intellectually oriented gay men for spirited and intelligent discussion of current issues in the world, history, philosophy, politics, social trends, pop culture, etc.  A few of us met recently to plan a series of meetups.  We generated some topics to put things into motion and hope you'll suggest additional topics.
Starting in September, the group will meet on the first Wednesday of the month.  We planned dates and tentative topics for the next three meetings and will plan further with the help of those who attend.  Below is a preview of the next three meetings.  In a about a week, we will send out a formal meetup invitation for the first meeting.
Please plan to attend and do tell friends.

Wednesday October 5, 2011

Location:  Samovar or TBD

Wednesday November 2, 2011
Time:       7:30 - 9:00 pm

We intend to create a space for civil, thoughtful discourse and debate.  We welcome a wide range of perspectives and opinions.
