After the original Niners Meetup group dissolved (much like any hopes we harbored for the 2010 football season), the opportunity arose to form one group for both Niners and Giants fans in DC.

This past World Series showed the country what we've already long known--San Francisco has some of this country's most loyal, dedicated, and passionate fans. So, let's keep the momentum from the Giants' phenomenal World Series Championship win going.

Opening Day is fast approaching... Thursday, March 31st, at 8pm ET against the Dodgers, in fact. (And ESPN is probably STILL calling us underdogs.)

And, so much is already underway... We all know about the unfortunate fate of Boo-ribe, and Renteria decided to sign a 1-year contract with the Reds. But, on the brighter side, we've re-signed Huff, Fontenot, and Burrell. We've brought in Miguel Tejada, and we're looking to bring up some serious rookie talent in Brandon Belt.

And, despite the great disappointment that this past Niners season proved to be, there are some interesting developments on that front as well. We have signed Baalke to GM.  And, we beat out very generous bids from Miami and the Broncos to land Harbaugh with a 5-year contract.  And, as we all know, we've had some luck with the Stanford-to-Niners coach in the past.  Who knows, this may be the year that Jed York finally proves he's got some Eddie D in him after all.

Anyhow, post any roster updates that you catch wind of, get stoked for the 2011 seasons, and put the Giants' Opening Game on your calendar.

We'll be gathering at Town Tavern (Adams Morgan) for the games.

Looking forward to seeing you all in your Orange and Black, and let's hope for a few beards in the crowd as well.

Go Niners! Go Giants!

In 2011, The Beard will still be feared!
