A day of building and programming experimental noise and music producing things.

WHEN: Saturday, June 7, 2014 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM

WHAT: Learn to build or code an electro-acoustic, electronic, or software noise device. Then we'll jam out!

WHERE: The fabulous 20Mission, 2415 Mission Street, San Francisco, CA 94110

1 pm Demos
1:30 pm Instrument-making workshops until about 5pm
5 pm Jam session!

All tickets include parts, pizza, beer, and juice. (Instructors are not paid.)


Jar Of Noise: Learn to build a fun, light-reactive electronic oscillator, based on the Schmitt logic inverter. No electronics experience required! $20. Instructor: Johny Radio.

Web Audio API for Beginners: Learn how to use the Web Audio API to build instruments in the browser. Make a sequencer and hook into Socket.IO to sync up with others, or go crazy mapping keyboard and mouse events to oscillators, samples, and effects. Ideally you should know a bit about HTML/Javascript or a bit about electronic music, but all levels welcome. Bring your computer. $5. Instructor: Cole Willsea

Whiskerphone: Build an amplified carbon fiber filament on a stick, and detect minute sounds in everyday objects. Discover a hidden world of sound. $10. Instructor: Bryan Day, inventor of the Magnetoselqier.
