Thanks all for your interest in brewing a sour beer and with helping GigaYeast learn about yeasts+bugs for brewing Lambics, Gueze, Flemish Sours, and other beers. Please contact me if you are interested but did not sign up for pitches last night.

For anyone that's interested in further info on the microwaved mason jar test-brew concept, here's the article that spurred us to try it:

If you do give it a go, let us know about the results! Cheers!

Thanks to Jim Woods of Cervecería de MateVeza for joining us to talk about his unique brewing styles and collaborating with us to develop the recipe for our September 7th Brew Day with him! Also appreciate Evan's presentation on his malt experiment and Steve's discussion about GigaYeast's ongoing sour project/data call. Big stuff ahead for the SFHG!

Hey folks, Just a preview of what to expect at our meeting next week - another great lineup planned and it should be a very educational evening.

    - Presentation by Evan Rusackas and me on the malt character experiment he conducted with Chris. - Presentation by Jim Woods, Brewer at Cerveceria de MateVeza, along with a group project where we will design recipes to be voted on by the club. The club will brew the winning recipe with Jim on September 7th! Truly a collaborative effort from start to finish!

    - Sour brewers needed! Steve Smith of GigaYeast will be on hand to identify brewers to make some sour beers with new products being developed by GigaYeast. We're looking forward to Steve doing a presentation on sour beer production at a future meeting.

    - Introduction of our new SFHG Charter (DRAFT) to be voted on at a later meeting.

    - Upcoming competition and events update, and club announcements.

    - Homebrew share.

    See you there!
