Motobrewer Brew Day, Growler Fill

  • Mar 1, 2014 · 11:00 AM
  • This location is shown only to members

Brewing up a 20g batch of Moving Violation - American Pale Ale.

I am aiming for mash in at 11am, but the doors will be open by 10am. We should be wrapping up around 4pm - barring stuck sparges and other brewday challenges that seem to pop up with an audience.

Tasting/Growler Fills
I will be throwing a keg of Citra Pale Ale on tap and possibly 'SIPA'. SIPA is somewhere between an English IPA and an American Double IPA. Scaling recipes from 5g to 20g isn't as simple as multiplying everything by 4. If you want samples, please bring a glass. If you want to take some home with you, bring a growler. If you have a keg that you want to share, we can throw that on tap too. (note: draft box project is worth the effort).

I am located in Sunnyside. There is parking. BART is about a 7 block walk, and buses can get you within a few blocks. For cyclists, there are bike lanes. Motorcycles are welcomed to park in the driveway. Please RSVP. I will limit to 15 Guild Members. If the list is full, contact me. I will probably say "See you then", but I don't think I have the space if all 564 members show up. -Paul "Motobrewer"

Thanks for coming out! It was a good turnout. thanks for supplying the pizza Scott! It was great to sample other's brews and to have the opportunity to get to know some of the other members. We hit 1.057 OG - (1.056 target). Fermenting like crazy at a little higher temp than i want. I will be doing this again soon. Some of the 'projects' that I would like to do/considering:

    - fill my wine barrel (60g +/-)
    - Pilot System vs Partial Mash See you soon. Thanks again, great day yesterday.

Making the starter tonight! Looking forward to Saturday. If you are on the waiting list, and the rain holds off, feel free to stop by. If it is raining, my garage will be a bit tight.

Why do all the Meetups that I want to go to happen the same time I'm booked at other functions. I really can't miss the premier of a short film I worked on at the Castro the same day.

The next one I will definitely be at, especially if I'm able to ride the hog to your place!

PS you can limit the number of RSVPs you will accept for the brew day in the options that MeetUp lets you set for the event. You should probably set it at 15 if that's where you want it.

Awesome, Paul! Thanks for posting up this brew day. I definitely hope the Guild sees more small brew days so peeps can really hang out and get to know each other in 2014. I'll try to get there, but not sure I can make it yet. Cheers!
