San Francisco Magic The Gathering Casual Players
We HAVE MOVED!
Yes that's right, we have moved BACK to Pizza Orgasmica for our weekly escapades. From now on, join us every Sunday evening WITHOUT FAIL at
823 Clement Street
(9th and Clement)
WHY, you may ask, have we moved back?
- They have a brand spankin' new General Manager Ken, (to whom you should all be nice) who has agreed to let us stay in the side room till 11-11:30 on Sunday evenings.
- They have lowered their beer prices. You can get a pint of craft beer for 4$, and a Beer AND a shot of Fireball for 6. Holy smokes!
- Their food is reasonably priced. No more 15$ Macaroni and Cheese, although it was incredibly delicious!
- They have Light!
- They have room!
- They have no loud music!
There's an important caveat: WE MUST PURCHASE SOMETHING. Food, booze, you name it. But please don't come play with us if you are only going to buy a soda. They are totally cool with us moving back to play there (at this point the best place in the city, maybe even better than Kennedy's. Of course, you all knew that; please support the place that's gonna allow us to play cards for the foreseeable future.
We are also starting a little earlier, at 5pm to give us more time to play.
The Tee Off Bar & Grill has thanked us for our patronage...they understand...please visit them too and drop in and say hello when you get a chance. We had a good run with them.
Even though people often don't RSVP here, there are always many people who show up and bring fun decks to play. Lately we've been having quite a few folks show up.
We play many different variants of multiplayer magic. Please, no proxies, or very few if at all possible. 60 card minimum decks, and please make sure your deck is legal in some format. We don't generally play EDH (Commander) but that's only because not everyone has an EDH deck. But if you bring yours, I'm sure someone will be happy to play you with theirs!
We usually play
- Star (sometimes called Pentagonal)
- Anti-Star (New format!)
- 2-Headed Giant (or more!)
- Left-right Attack
- Team variants of each of the above! Crazy fun.
- And More!
Hear what others have to say about the Magic meetup!
"It sucks. These guys bring these crazy-ass decks that always beat my tournament-caliber builds."
"Don't go. These morons think they know how to play magic, but my legacy goblin deck can kill em all. I just have to remember to bring it next time."
"I brought a vintage deck filled with proxy moxes. I won even before my opponents got to take their first turn! How cool is that! Of course, the next game I waited around while everyone destroyed everything i had in quick succession. But that's ok, I had fun!"
