Oat Hill Mine Road-Calistoga

I have heard some good stuff about this trail and since a few of us will be in the area still detoxing from the Boggs Mountain ride the day before, why not stop and ride this trail on Sunday and call it a weekend!  This trail is classified advanced for its technicality and aerobic difficulty.  The ride is an out and back 10.5 mile ride with scenic views.  We will pay the price first by going up, up, and up, then turn around and have a fun, technical ride down.  I am limiting the ride to 12 riders.

If anyone has ridden the area, please feel free to suggest some routes if you are going to attend.  We will get some food after the ride and any suggestions are welcome as well.

If for some reason there is heavy rains in the area, the ride will be cancelled since the trail does not drain very well.

Here are some links to download maps, directions, and information regarding the trail:

Thanks a for a another great ride! Here is my route coming back down with the hidden, sweet singletrack at the end (including the "Zen" trail :).

I am out. Got a new dirt jumper, so tomorrow is the test ride. I now own more dirt jumpers than mountain bikes :)

Hi everyone, we have a couple riders that are willing to carpool and contribute for a ride to Calistoga. If there are some riders that are on the fence regarding the distance then carpooling will be a great option. Unfortunately I will be there the day before so I cannot give anyone a ride and I believe a few other riders are in the same situation. Lets make it happen!

Another option is using zip car. There are some members that use their service for out of town rides and it works out great! Check it out!

One of my all time favorite carpooling sites is http://www.zimride.co... Super easy to use (sign up via FB) and I've never had any problems. Best used for trips to Tahoe whether you're looking for a ride or looking for someone to share the ride.

Hello, is anyone available for carpooling from San Francisco? I'd like to join, but I need a ride from the city or a nearby Bart station (sharing the gas/toll costs, of course).
