RESCHEDULED - full moon ride in Marin Headlands

Hi everyone, I hope those of you with lights (or who can borrow some) can join us for this full moon night ride on the evening of Thursday, November 21!  (No longer a full moon, but better chance of clear skies and no rain.)

We'll meet at the Velo Rouge Cafe (address below) and then ride through the Presidio on the Bay Area Ridge Trail to the Golden Gate Bridge, over the bridge and up Conzelman Drive, and then do a loop in the Marin Headlands consisting of Coastal Trail, Miwok, Old Springs, Marincello, Bobcat, back to the bridge on Bunker Road and back to SF across the bridge and through the Presidio. All these trails are legal.

The ride is roughly 25 miles total on a combination of paved roads, bike paths, fire roads, and a little bit of singletrack. None of the trail sections are highly technical, but it is not a beginner ride due to the lighting conditions.

We should get back to SF by around 10:30 p.m. or 11 p.m.

Please bring a helmet and good lights (i.e. lights strong enough to light up the trail in front of you). We'll ride at a social pace with no rider left behind.

Here is one good resource for mountain bike lighting:

I am limiting the group size to 10 just because of the length of the ride and my desire to keep the group together from start to finish. Hope to see you for the full moon!

Please read the group's responsibility and liability statement, as always:

I have to drop out tonight as well, feeling a cold coming on pretty bad today :( Here's the exact route we took from Velo Rouge on Monday, if everyone else wants to re-create it themselves without us: http://www.strava.com/activities/95940232

Work is conspiring against me and unfortunatley there's no way I'm going to make it out of here in time to ride tonight. Ryan, feel like leading this one again tonight? If so, awesome. If not, do we have another volunteer(s) who know the route? Have fun out there!

Monday night's ride was epic. Weather cooperated just fine, views were clear and amazing and it wasn't too cold or foggy at all. Hope tomorrow is just as good!

I just e-mailed everyone and please check here or check your e-mail before the ride tonight. The weather coming in (with possible rain tonight) may result in this ride getting postponed and rescheduled for later this week. Stay tuned. Thanks.

It still looks cloudy and still 60% chance rain for later tonight, so I am rescheduling for this Thursday, Nov. 21 (same time, same place), when the forecast is clear skies and 0% chance of rain. If Ryan or others want to go on tonight without me - feel free to coordinate that, otherwise I'll hope to see you all on Thursday night!

Guys - I hate to drop out again, but I just woke up feeling like crap. I'm officially blaming my snivelling, petri-dish co-workers. Have a great ride!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
