This group offers an opportunity to bring people together to learn about Qigong and to practice Tai Chi through various Qigong/Taichi regular classes as well as workshops and retreats led by Liping Julia Zhu.
Liping Julia Zhu is a certified qigong instructor from China and a disciple of Taoist Master Yu Anren. She was a gold medalist in the 1996 International Martial Arts Tournament. She is the qigong instructor at the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, a licensed acupuncturist, and a Zen student, currently residing at the San Francisco Zen Center.
Liping started her Taichi training with Master Yu Anren in 1990 and studied intensively with Master Yu the family style Taiyi Swimming Dragon Chuan. She met Master Yun Yinsen in 2006 and started to study Liu He Ba Fa. After her recent three month intensive study in Shanghai with Master Yun, she was authorized to teach Liu He Ba Fa in the States. Liping has been studying regularly and privately with Chen Style Taichi master George Xu in SF since 2001, who has become her main training teacher in internal martial art outside China. Since 2008 Liping has also been training with Yang/Chen Taichi Master Yu Xiaolin.
Other Taichi teachers that have influenced Liping are: Swimming Dragon Taichi brothers Li Yongliang (Taiyi Riding the Wind Sword) in Melbourne, Australia and Zhu Mingyuan (Taiyi 72 Closed Hands) in Changsha, China; Da Chen Quan or Yi Quan Master Li Zhaoshan in Xingyan, China; Yang/Chen Taichi Master Jiang Zongbao and Chen Taichi Master Jin Zhenliang in Shanghai, China; Guan Ping Taichi Master Kimo Lepree in SF, USA.

The regular weekly Tuesday Night Taichi Class is the Swimming Dragon form.
Taiyi Swimming Dragon Chuan originated from Wudang Mountain in China is Daoist master Yu Anren’s family heirloom. It is a unique and graceful form combining Tai Chi, Qigong, and yogic stretching into one. It is very good for circulating and cultivating Qi and for enhancing balance, flexibility, and coordination. No previous experience necessary.
