Here is something photo walkers might be interested in :)
I carry a small GPS logger device that saves my location every few seconds. When I come home, I can use a desktop program to correlate the GPS log and the photos from my cameras using timestamps and geo-tag (embed GPS coordinates to) the photos.
(For instance, click on the (i) button in the lower-right corner on http://komei.smugmug.com/Events/2014-07-13-Stairway-Photo/i-BsZS9df/A)
This works with pretty much all digital cameras. (Some smartphone apps can do the same thing but they drain battery fast.)

See http://www.meetup.com/San-Francisco-Stairway-Photo-Walks/photos/23202692/?success=uploaded#[masked] to see the program in action.

My particular device is called CanMore GP-101. I also used Holux, Pharos and i-gotU in the past.

You can download our GPS log from our photo walk from http://we.tl/XktJqsCSNO and drag & drop it to Google Earth to see the path we took.

    Cheers,
    Komei

Great photos. I especially like the one of our meetup member taking the shot of the flowers (nice combination of human and non-human life with an inanimate contsruction); Clay Street (nice comp and vibrance); the cross-eyed photo (nice natural plant life framing).

Beautiful gallery! I like the interesting angles, especially from very low, making the steps look even more steep. My favorite is the row of houses, tilted to the incline...very cool!

Chloe, thanks for the flickr group! I'd like to keep my photowalk photos in a separate location, so I tried to create a second flickr account to join that group, but I kept getting redirected to my existing one, so I just uploaded here.

Great pictures! Extremely precise focus and framing. I can feel your love of nature :)

Kelly, if you use a different browser (Chrome vs. Firefox vs. Safari vs. IE), it may be easier to upload to a different account. Meetup.com shows Slideshow only in a tiny frame, which is a shame.

Thank you very much for organizing the meetup and also for the photo sharing! I had a great time re-exploring the City and learning different points of view from everyone!

Looks from the map that the Bart runs close to there. Just a couple blocks from the meeting spot. Looking forward to it too!!!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
