The first San Francisco Tea Meetup event will be this Sunday, November 1st at Imperial Tea Court, Berkeley at 3:00PM until we are finished in approximately 1-1/2 hours. This is an invaluable opportunity to learn about what features to consider when evaluating oolong teas in a participatory group setting.

James Labe will choose a selection of up to six oolongs currently available through Imperial Tea Court for tasting and commentary. He will lead us in a group discussion of the oolongs after we taste them. James does not work for Imperial Tea Court and he will give his honest evaluation of the oolongs tasted.

Members will be offered a discount on purchases at the time of the event.

James Labe is the former owner and operator of Teahouse Kuan Yin in Seattle, Washington. He is well known as one of the first professional tea sommeliers in the country. He has worked professionally tasting teas for well-known companies. He has experience travelling to the countries of origin. His work as a tea sommelier includes W Hotels. He currently lives in the Bay Area.
