Let's work together to make a great meal! This is a group for serious cooks who like to plan delicious, balanced potluck meals, and who coordinate in advance what everyone will bring to make that happen. This time we're operating a little outside the norm, and advance planning takes on another form. I'm fortunate to have a tiny certified organic farm across the street from my home, which we will use both as the inspiration for and sourcing of our meal. The farm sends out regular-ish facebook posts of what's ripe in a given week so we have an idea of what to expect, and I will forward the most recent list early in the week of the 30th to those who have signed up. Let's use the comment section below to communicate and share ideas of what sounds inspiring, so that when we gather we have a rough plan in place (that will obviously have to be flexible based on what we find in the garden). The plan is to meet at my home at 2:00, and when everyone's gathered and ready, we'll drive across to the farm and pick out what inspires us, and then come back to my place with our bounty. We'll work in teams of two or three to cook/toss/mix our selections, and then eat our creations. The cost for produce is $30 for a grocery bag or $45 for two - I think if we have 4-6 people we're talking about maybe $10 each. I have basic cooking ingredients, but if anyone wants a particular cheese or wine or chocolate we can just bring it along, and please mention it in the comments below. Please note that group rules apply and that late cancellations or no-shows hurt the group and the event. Let's celebrate living this close to our food and enjoy each other's company - what could be better?
