December 14 Rodeo Beach / Headlands race info:
I will announce a time and location for Wednesday hill repeats and runs. the Saturdays will be 830am starts on the actual course for whatever distance the schedule calls for (10mi, 12mi, 14mi, etc) *with some awesome exceptions!
it's ez to plant water/nutrition in bear canisters at actual aid stations to mimic race day and avoid carrying weight. by dec 14 you will have a race strategy dialed - when to run, when to walk, what to eat, what NOT to eat, when it hurts, how to overcome, etc.
re pace - I did the 30k version of this course in 2011 and 2012 in 3 1/2 hours. a mid pack time. the course is a giant figure 8 (plus) thru the headlands with short steep sections.
*note after week 12 the distance training basically ends. also, 10 days before thanksgiving we run a marathon. 10 days before xmass we run the 50... a great way to send the year and be WAY dialed for ski season.
