this is a jump-on jump-off trail run in that you can clip it whenever you want. in lieu of long climbs, this loop is a STAIR SEEKING trail odyssey so bring fresh legs. spoiler alert - you will find me hiking a lot of these steps - i've been crushed trying to run em all.
route: stowe lake to OB, lands end to crissy, retrace to bay area ridge trail, park presidio, GGP. 16mi / 2,136 gain / 3hrs. any sickos interested in tacking on additional mileage should seek counseling then join me for an even 20.
the HARDLY STRICTLY BLUEGRASS FESTIVAL will be going on. I suspect parking should be ok at 830am but you never know.
*general - if you suspect the heat, an injury or hangover will have you pacing slower than the pack, consider establishing a buddy on the same program and watch out for ea other. although we generally re-group at intersections for a head count, keeping momentum is nice too. if you lose the pack for any reason please leave a note on my car, a text at my cell or something so we know yer ok. everyone should carry a map if u don't know the route and should not rely on cell coverage. rei carries "tom Harrison" maps that have more detail. always run with water, $, credit card and ID.
i'm including this url for anyone interested in the hoka one one shoe. after 100mi or so i'm sold. great if you have injuries or feel pummeled after downhilling.
