California Seablite Habitat Restoration

  • December 7, 2013 · 9:00 AM

You are invited to join the Wild Equity Institute and the Golden Gate Audubon Society to help restore the wetland habitat found at Pier 94.

Pier 94 is home to the endangered California seablite. In the 1960’s, the California seablite population was so small that the plant could only be found in Morro Bay. Today, seablite has been successfully reintroduced at Pier 94 in San Francisco and parts of the East Bay. We need your help to keep these populations growing.

Please wear sturdy close-toed shoes, weather appropriate clothes, hat and/or sunscreen. Bring garden gloves, a water bottle, and a snack. The Golden Gate Audubon Society will provide instructions, gloves, and tools.

Meet at Pier 94, 480 Amador St, San Francisco. Here is a link with directions http://wildequity.org/locations/3171

This just in from the folks at the Audubon Society..."We will have 500 small plants Yarrow and Red Fescue for the volunteers to plant in the ground. The rain - if it happens on Friday, should make this an easy job."
