French Loop Trail - Redwood Regional Park

The French Loop Trail is located in Redwood Regional Park in the East Bay Regional Park District. The park contains the largest natural strand of coast redwood in the East Bay. Features of this trail include wildflowers, ferns and other deep forest vegetation, wild turkeys and a stream with a trickling small waterfall.

The French Trail is a lengthy segment within a larger trail system. We will be hiking the Tres Sendas/French/Orchard/Bridle/Stream Trails to complete the loop.

Beautiful park-lots of trails. The French Loop Trail winds through lush redwoods, madrones & ferns along a creek. This trail is moderate.

I am not 100% sure if I will attend this hike but if I do I would have to meet you there. Can I please know where in the park you would meet.

Hi Mohammed, Thank you for your interest in this hike! The TH is located at the Canyon Meadow Staging Area. I have never had any success when I have scheduled to meet fellow hikers at the TH. It seems we arrive too early & miss folks or arrive too late & those waiting are upset. So, please know we may miss you & it is nothing personal, just the nature of getting a group from point A to point B! Robin SJH Hike Leader

Hi John, Thank you for your interest in this hike. We should be to the TH by 9:15? I have never had any success meeting people at the TH - someone is either too late/early. Like I posted to another hiker, please know getting folks from point A to B doesn't always go according to plan and we may miss you. Hopefully we will see you there! Robin SJH Hike Leader

Hi John, thanks for your interest in this hike! I thought I read somewhere you are a runner? If you are active - runner, treadmill a few times a week, stairs instead of elevator, etc. - you should be able to do this hike - you might be sore the day/week after, but that's a good thing. If you are currently at a 'different' activity level, then you might want to wait for/attend the Summit Hike. Check out the hike description on the website and decide. SJH Hike Leader, Robin

No, I'm not a "runner" but I have been biking long-distance for the last couple years and I do a lot of endurance based weight-training so I'm in excellent shape. I just survived a 12.1 mile run a week ago so I'm sure a 7 mile hike will be no trouble.

New to the group. Wanted to express my interest in this hike, would love to check it out, but can't make it on that day. Have a great time.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
