Who inspired you to start hiking?

I've always loved the outdoors and became an regular, avid hiker in 2002. Have been to places all around California, but love to explore new ones whenever I can. My best friend Annie showed me around the Foothills/Sierra trails.

What are your favorite types of hikes?

I like most types of hikes. We have so many hikes to choose from in the Central Valley, East Bay, Sierras and the Coast. There's something worthwhile to enjoy in all of them. Hikes to waterfalls are especially nice, as are coastal hikes and those in old growth forests.

Where is the first place you hiked?

When younger I hiked in Yosemite up to Vernal Falls. What an exhilerating experience it was!

When did you see something amazing or unexpected on a hike? What was it?

Have seen many surprises on trails, including a rattlesnake (Spenceville Wildlife Area), bobcat (Consumnes Preserve), pine marten (Devil's Postpile Nat. Monument). The spires at Pinnacles National Monument are fantastic.

Let's go hiking in the Great Outdoors! Based from the Lodi/Stockton area, we'll go hiking to interesting, scenic and enjoyable places not far from the Central Valley.
