San Jose Book Club!

This is a fun social co-ed book club for people of all ages (must be 18 years or older) who love reading. I used to read quite a bit when I was younger and in school but as I started working I found that my time was very limited and slowly stopped reading. I'd like to get back into reading at least one book a month.

I would like to start this book club in the South Bay, specifically the San Jose area because this is where I live, so that as I read I can share my ideas and comments to other people with the same passion. I saw that many book clubs filter members by gender, age and common interests. While that is great for some groups I would like to open this up for people of all ages (18 and over) and gender. I'd love to hear different perspectives and learn from everyone. We can all share and discuss our interpretation of the books we read. Our books can be anything from the NY times best seller list to independent books from smaller publishers.

I will schedule a first Meetup for this group as soon as we have about 50 members, the more the better. The Meetups will be a monthly gathering and depending on member requests we can meet more often. The monthly Meetups will most likely last about 90 minutes. The first 30 minutes would be quiet time to maybe to finish up reading the current months featured book, meet and great new friends, and give time for people to arrive . The next hour would be used to discuss the featured book and recommendations for the next book to read for next months Meetup. The SJBC is a casual affair and the plan is to have fun, meet new people and enjoy reading books!
