SCCAA Presents: Peaceable Kingdom: The Journey Home
A Tribe of Heart Documentary

You are invited to this free presentation of this phenomenal award winning documentary: Peaceable Kingdom: The Journey Home
Watch the trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=aFqRCc08V6k
A riveting story of transformation and healing, PEACEABLE KINGDOM: THE JOURNEY HOME explores the awakening conscience of several people who grew up in traditional farming culture and who have now come to question the basic assumptions of their way of life.
Presented through a woven tapestry of memories, music, and breathtaking accounts of life-altering moments, the film provides insight into the farmers' sometimes amazing connections with the animals under their care, while also making clear the complex web of social, psychological and economic forces that have led them to their present dilemma.
Interwoven with the farmers' stories is the dramatic animal rescue work of a newly-trained humane police officer whose sense of justice puts her at odds with the law she is charged to uphold.
“Beautiful. Courageous. It has raised my awareness to a whole new level.”, “This movie awakens a love I have closed myself to -- Beautiful!”

I enjoy documentaries that depict the true stories of people overcoming adversities.

There are stronger docs on animal issues and switching to vegan diets. Would recommend the Cove for example or Forks over Knifes.

Of course there are...goes without saying...but sometimes we need to speak softly for new folks to the movement. AND both of those movies you mentioned are on our roster to show.

    Need to cancel?
Peaceable Kingdom: the Journey Home on May 15th at the Blue Light Cinema is full to capacity.
This message is both a reminder, if you have already confirmed, and also a plea to please let us know if for any reason you need to cancel ...even at the last minute.
The reason is, is that we have 14 people at this time that would love to go and are on a stand by list. You can email here now or call[masked] at any time if you need to cancel.
No action required now unless you need to cancel. If you have rsvp'd and you got a confirmation email in return, you are on the list!
We look forward to seeing you all there...

I have the same question (and the same situation--multiple meetup groups) that Chuck has. I'm concerned that there are some people on waiting lists who may not be able to attend if we are being counted on all 3 lists.

Folks PLEASE understand that since posting these listings I have checked here at least every other day and added those that said they were going to my confirmed list. Donna I have you on the confirmed list.

Having said that, I want to qualify that it is going to be impossible to be 100% accurate in this count because the event is being advertised on the Blue Light website and the even just the big movie poster is bound to draw some folks that have no idea they need to confirm. So for that reason I have stopped reserving at 86 people. (we have a capacity of 105). So that those unexpected shows have some seats too. If you emailed me before that cut off and I replied back to you, then you are confirmed. If you emailed me and I wrote stating you are on the waiting or standby list, then that is still the case. In reality some (that didn't confirm), may be turned away. But the good news there is that we will most likely be showing the film again too.

Was RSPV to the email needed? This is posted on 3 meetups, so I'm signed up in 3 places now. Is someone counting that as 1 person, or does that count as 3 people?

    May 13, 2013

    • Paris H.

hahahaha...don't worry Chuck...I've been watching you! Yes I am counting.

Is the date set for the 15th?

    May 12, 2013

    • Paris H.

Yes Karen and we are accepting only stand by as we are full to capacity now. Would you like me to add you to the stand-by list?

I'm sorry - forgot an early, early meeting the next day :(

Good News! SCCAA wants to let you know that the management of the Blue Light Cinema has allowed us to switch to a larger theater room within the multi-plex! SO THAT WILL ALLOW US TO OPEN UP SEATING AGAIN FOR A "MINUTE". So follow the directions in POST ABOVE and [masked] while you still can! Of course it is imperative to let those of you confirmed already that you will not be going after all so we can let someone else have your seat.
    Look forward to seeing everyone!

Hi folks...just wanted let all of you know that have confirmed that we are almost to capacity. That is great. All toll we have 70 confirmed and you are on that list!

So in order to make sure others that come off the street at the theater, PLEASE...All we are asking is that if for some reason you will not be making this event after all to let us know by replying to this message. That way I can allow others to take your seat....(and look to see you at our next SCCAA event).

This will be helpful with as much notice as possible, even on the day of the event. Y0u can even call 408.355.0436.

There will be a check in sheet at the door. So please do stop by the table, so we can check you off...and to get your free ticket for a chance to win the dinner for 2 at Veggie Grill!

Again, no action needed unless you are NOT coming after all.
    See you there!
    Paris,
    SCCAA

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
