Weds 7pm: An evening of Buddhist practice

  • Jan 8, 2014 · 7:00 PM
  • Private Residence

Join us this Wednesday as we practice the ancient practice of mantra recitation.

Mantra recitation is a way to receive the blessing power of various Buddhas. One can receive the essence of their teachings in the form of Sanskrit syllables, building strength and vitality in the mind, and come to have their same qualities of compassion and wisdom.

An evening of Buddhist Practice with inspiration from Green Tara

Buddhist Study Group

Wednesday, 7 pm - 9 pm,  See below for address and directions

Green Tara, the manifestation of active compassion, reaches out her hand to grant all wishes and, with her right foot outstretched, is ready to step down and help all who call upon her.

We will focus on the mantra of Green Tara, considered the Bodhisattva or Buddha of Compassion. Green Tara has the ability to improve health and vitality in our body, and also clear away our selfish concerns and raise our sensitivity, empathy and compassion.  She helps to overcome the many kinds of fears and anxieties that beings hold, bringing peace and contentment and inner strength.  After the practice your heart will feel more serene and open, and you will have more mental strength.

This month, under the advice of our lama, Namnang Mingjo Dorje Rinpoche, we are strengthening our positive mind attributes in preparation for an important new series of practices and training webcasts from him in February appropriate for those of all levels of exposure.  Rinpoche has the wisdom and logic to help us to find the essence of the Buddhist teachings so we can truly transform ourselves.

Join us, whether you are familiar with Buddhism or brand new, this study group is open to all of us who have a sincere interest (or curiosity) about the study and practice of Buddhist dharma teachings. These teachings have the profound effect of opening the hearts and minds, unfolding new horizons of wisdom and compassion.

Please Reply and RSVP if you plan to attend, thanks! -Manjushri Buddha Dharma Lineage
