beginner shoot, coordinated with santa clara rifle and pistol club.iiff

This is a firearms orientation run by the santa clara rifle association.

This event is a public outreach effort, as such range fees are being waived for this event.

Basic firearms safety will be taught before we begin shooting. Club members are loaning use of their personal firearms for this event.

The primary firearm for this event will be 22 rifles and pistols.

Typically these events have been running anywhere from 3 to 5 hours, it is very social.

Due to good weather we will be firing up the barbeque, we have picnic tables.

For those of you who are interested in learning more or trying shooting for the first time, this event is for you.

We are happy to answer firearm related questions, between all the people who will be from the club, you have decades of firearms knowledge.

This is a family friendly and socially tolerant event. Children are welcome, but parnets are responsible for their children. We want everyone to be safe, so safety rules are strictly enforced.

This event is free, but donations appreciated to offsett ammo and target costs. On average the events have been having 15 to 20 people attending.

Still a cold day, but the event had a good turn out. If I didn't get to meet any of you, perhaps next time. This is a co hosted event and today we had 36 people go through the lanes.

Now to get ready for the official sunday shoot tomorrow.

This event is a public outreach event that I cohost with the Santa Clara Rifle and Pistol club.

Based on response, we are going to have a decent sized crowd attending. It is an indoor range, and we do have heaters.

You can bring guests, of course I would appreciate it if you let me know how many people will be showing.

We will run the event till everyone has a chance to shoot, these events have run typically till 7pm or later in the evening.

    Atmosphere is "social".

This event is a open public event, as long as someone isn't a prohibited person(domestic violence restraining order, convicted felon, adjudged mentally defective, certain violent misdemeanors, illegal aliens, under 18 without adult).

We are limited to handgun calibers(22 cal through 45 acp, no magnums, no centerfire rifles)

Russel, we can't bring ARs in center fire calibers, especially the 5.56 since at 3000 fps velocity, it would blow through metal plates in back of range, sorry.
