What are you hoping to get from this book club?

I want to make new friends that I can talk intellectually about anything, from books to you name it and not feel so weird about liking the things I like. I have always been an oddball because enjoy spending my time reading instead of partying and the like like most 22 year old kids. I just want to find a place to fit in and be comfortable with myself and not feel ashamed that I am a book worm and be put down because of it.

Tell us a little bit about the types of books you like best.

I love books that keep me on the edge of my seat and books that really get me emotionally involved with the characters. probably the most emotionally involved I have ever gotten from a book was when I read 'The Talisman" by Steven King and Peter Straub. One character in particular caught my attention and I won't give what happens away but I was absolutely devastated and I actually put the book down and cried like a baby fr almost an hour; it was that powerful. That is the kind of book I like to read. One that can seriously affect me and leave good, bad, whatever feelings lingering in my mind even after I have finished he book cover to cover and go to bed.

My name is Ashley. I am 22. I have been an avid reader ever since elementary school. Back then I happened to pick up the book "The Hobbit." A few pages in I read a line, "it was a hobbit hole," and I have been hooked on books ever since.
