Lower Purgatory Sunset Hike

Did you see the sunset picture on the Meetup site Trailwalkers home page? Well, you too can experience the calm soothing effect of a Texas Hill Country Sunset Hike!

Come join us at 6:30 PM at the Lower Purgatory Trailhead to start off your weekend with a medium to medium-fast paced hike around the dames, and through the woods of Lower Purgatory natural area. We will be returning back to the parking lot around 8:15, just before dark. But, you may want to bring a small light with you just in case. Walk off your stress from the week, start your weekend off right, and bring some water!

From the SMGA website: The access point to lower Purgatory from the intersection of Wonder World Drive and Hunter Road on the south side includes parking, a kiosk and the trailhead for Dante's Trail, which leads through the length of Purgatory Creek Natural Area. The first 1-mile section is crushed stone and dirt hike and bike trail. Where the trail's bike ramps merge onto the roadway at the northern end of Wonder World Drive, the trail splits both south (connecting to Prospect Park along Virgil's Way) and north (connecting to the more challenging upper Purgatory trails). I enjoyed our walk yesterday evening as well. It was good to be part of the group again. Thanks for being so welcoming to my friend. It's always fun meeting new people and this is a great group to do that!

Saturdays and Sundays have been our days and it looks like we have started to claim Friday as well--at least Friday night. I have really enjoyed our laid back Friday nites at Riley's Tavern and I thank you all for sharing these mellow times with me. Rob created a very excellent experience for us yesterday (Friday) with his sunset hike and the fun time and conversation we shared at Garcia's afterward. Some of us were able to enjoy a Corona. Maybe Friday evening/night can be a regular affair for us. Does the word "community" apply yet? I always enjoy reunions and it was good to see Jenny L and Juliana after not seeing them for awhile. Jenny showed up with a very cool friend who seemed to fit right in. I hope Mark will become a regular. Love ya. Bob

I am signed up to join you, however may not be able to make it by 6:30. I will rush rush rush to get there, but I work in the city and the lovely traffic (NOT) gets worse by the minute. Why is everyone so in love with Austin....GET OVER IT!!! :)

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
