Hi all, join us for a medium paced 8 mile hike on the Colorado River at the LCRA’s McKinney Roughs Nature Park. The trails wind along ridges and descends down to the river and back up to the start point.
WARNING, this hike is not for beginners. If you have never hiked 8 miles before, it is highly recommended that you try some of our shorter hikes to gauge your hiking ability.
Be sure you are aware of your physical limitations.
This is a LCRA park and a $4.00 entrance fee per person is required.
This hike will require a medium amount of physical exertion. There are significant elevation changes and the terrain is rocky in some areas.
You will need to have good hiking boots/shoes, food for your lunch and more water than you think you will require.
We'll meet in San Antonio at the Park and Ride underpass of I-10 and 1604 at 7:00 and leaving at exactly 7:15. Look for the red Ford F-150.
If you carpool, you will be required to provide gas money to your driver.
