Time for all the SAHCH Road Bike Riders to get together and attend a bike rally.  The Fiesta Wildflower is an official Fiesta event and will take place on Sunday, April 27.  Go to www.fiestawildflower.com for all the details.

The official SAHCH distance will be the 25 miler.  However, choose whatever distance you'd like.

More info will follow to all of those who officially enter this event.  Your RSVP will only indicate an interest and is not binding.  I plan on signing up this week so just keep me posted on your plans between now and the cut off date.

We will probably be doing some group training in the weeks before the event so I'll keep you posted.

Gary and Hilary were welcoming to this newbie. Beautiful hilly ride, flowers and some scenery from a bygone era

Too many hills non-stop for my taste. But then, I got convinced to do the metric century without any decent lunch stops. Darn you peer pressure!

Philip I am glad you were there for the 60! You did great!

Congratulations to all. Finished just before the heat really set in. Although hiking is the best way to experience the Hill Country, cycling some of its less traveled roads isn't too shabby!

I tried signing up this morning online "Registration Closed" even though I got an Active account; is there a way to arrive early and sign up the day of? Or somewhere on Saturday to go sign in?

You might try going to Britton's Bicycle Shop on 1604. They're handing out packets until 3PM and might be taking late registrations.

Packet pick up today. Appears to be no changes in the 40 mile course. If you're on Britton's mailing, Mr. Britton has done an excellent job of providing all the details concerning the event. SAHCH members and others have done three training rides, two of them being on the 40 mile course. Except for Lookout Rd., very scenic with a fair amount of elevation change. Email me via the Meetup Sight if you're interested in car caravanning to Morgan's Wonderland.

Anyone know if there is someplace to shower near the finish line?

Cross-posted with the Alamo Cycling and Multisports group. Might be worth joining up with them for this. http://www.meetup.com/Bicyclingandmultisports/events/170488522/

I am signed up for the 40. Might consider the 100k if enough of the other riders are doing it.

Let's attempt another training session for this coming Saturday, March 29. It's been decided that the official SAHCH distance will be the 40 miler. We'll meet at the Jim's Coffee Shop at Nacogdoches and Loop 1604 at 8:00AM and leave by 8:15AM for our starting spot which will be somewhere off Lookout Rd. From there we will bike the majority of the official route....probably about 35 miles. COME PREPARED! KNOW YOUR ABILITIES, YOUR EQUIPMENT, AND YOUR NEEDS.

Unfortunately, I have to work today and hence, cancelling today's training ride.

A training ride is scheduled for this Saturday, March 15. We will meet at the McAllister Dog Park at 10:30AM. The ride will be along the Salado Creek Greenway towards Ft. Sam Houston. The Dog Park in McAllister Park is on Buckhorn Lane and is most easily accessed off Starcrest/Wurzbach Prkwy. between Jones Malstberger and Wetmore Rd. This event is non-binding. Show up if you'd like.
