Flashback! On the road 1968 - Cancelled

This event is cancelled.

This month we're having a movable literary and vine feast! gathering at the Herman Cook Volkswagen dealership in Encinitas Showroom to meet author Tom Leech of On the Road in ‘68: a year of turmoil, a journey of friendship, describing his 6-months visit to 27 countries during that wild year.

This will be a standing event and we'll move over to the Encinitas Wine Merchants tasting room after Tom's On the Road talk. Should be fun! Please RSVP to make sure there's room.

Step 1 - 6:30 to 7:30pm: Herman Cook Volkswagen Dealership in Encinitas on Encinitas Blvd. near El Camino. Park in back in the Customer Parking area and come into the main showroom.

Step 2 - 7:45 - 9 pm: The Encinitas Wine Merchants Tasting Room. From Herman Cook go north on El Camino to Via Molena and turn LEFT. Take the 2ND LEFT into the parking lot and the Tasting Room will be on your right.

RSVP So we can let the dealership and tasting room know how many to expect.

See you soon!

Elaine Masters /, and the San Diego Travel Festival, coming this fall.

How ironic that Meetup did not even know it was cancelled and asks me how it was!?

If only it had been one week later, sigh...

I remember 1968, and it was a weird time. I left the country to travel. I went to Canada to get Canadian papers because i was afraid if I went to Europe with an American passport I might get people spitting on me. Yep, that's how bad it was then. I never made it past Toronto and Montreal.
