We're doing it again! This time on beautiful Coronado Island, with both our Korean and Japanese brothers and sisters.
Every 4th of July, the City of Coronado turns their golf course into a gigantic picnic park. Let's all get together there for a full day of traditional Independence Day activities including barbecue, picnicking, and of course our San Diego beach tradition of volleyball. Once again, our member Glen Ong will bring his BBQ equipment, utensils, volleyball, and net. Just bring some food to grill, something to drink, and snacks to share. You may also want to bring a beach chair if you have one. Officially, alcohol and smoking are prohibited.
At 21:00, there will be a fireworks show over Glorietta Bay, just in front of our spot. If you want to arrive early, there is a parade down Orange Ave. in the morning starting at 10:00, with 122 different groups participating, including some classic car clubs showing off their vehicles.
If you have trouble finding us, please call Glen on[masked] or 持夢 on[masked]-5468.
You should be able to find parking on the neighboring streets or at the golf course.
MTS bus route 901 will be running on a holiday schedule, providing service to Coronado once an hour from Downtown and the South Bay. Get off the bus at the Hotel Del Coronado. You can also take the Coronado Ferry from the end of Broadway in Downtown San Diego. It is then a 25-minute walk or 10-minute bike ride from the Coronado Ferry Landing to our spot.
