Getty Museum (Los Angeles) Day Trip

The J. Paul Getty Museum started from the oil millionaire's private collection and was housed for many years in a a Roman-style villa in Malibu, which is now the Getty Villa.
Today's Getty Museum, designed by architect Richard Meier, occupies 750 acres of land in the Santa Monica Mountain foothills. The Getty Center includes an art collection so large it takes four exhibit pavilions just to show part of it, and the complex includes nine buildings in total.
Please rate this event if you are interested. We will try coordinate the time that's best for everyone (most likely on one of the weekends). This museum's so beautiful; the collections are massive and the architecture here is a work of art so entrancing. One of my favorite museum of all times.

I can drive and carry 3 people (2 in back seat with one of my sons + 1 in the passenger seat in front). I have a full size car. But we have to be back here by 9:30pm-ish, so would have to leave L.A. before 7-ish chàbùdu? Still enough time for museum and maybe visit Venice Beach or some other place fun.

I'll confirm by Wednesday whether or not I'll be staying overnight in LA. Either way, I'll drive up and can take 1-3 people with me in my 2-door car. Backseat may not be that comfortable though!

Ok, an update from me - I'll be driving up with you guys, but will be staying overnight in LA. Folks can ride with me up to LA, but will need to find another car to ride back to SD!

joey rThis place is easier to get lost and distracted then Disneyland. There are so many things to see and photograph. With every visit, I get a new insight and notice things I didn't see before. It's the best museum I've been to so far. The trip was self guided and didn't run into any groups.
