Announcing a new Meetup for The San Diego Chinese Language Meetup Group!

What: Run for Chelsea - Take Back the Parks

When: Saturday, March 20,[masked]:00 AM

Where: (A location has not been chosen yet.)

From the facebook invitation: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=344221613814
There will be no organizer or host for this event. For your information, this is just a posting to let you know about an upcoming event in our community in honor of Chelsea King.

On Saturday, March 20, we invite you to help us finish Chelsea's run. Together, we will run or walk for Chelsea, for her family, and for our community.

The course will be 3 miles around Lake Hodges. We will start at 9 am with a quick opening ceremony and then everyone is invited to walk or run the 3 miles. Many schools and running teams will participate -- please come out to show your support!

Parking is very limited at Lake Hodges near the Rancho Bernardo Community Center, so we have worked out a deal with Westfield North County Fair. We encourage you to park at North County Fair starting at 7:30 am. A bus will take you from the mall to the Rancho Bernardo side of Lake Hodges, which is just a few exits away from the mall. We will also bring you back to your car when you are finished. Please park at North County Fair. The shuttle starts at 7:30 am and the last bus will bring people over at 8:45 am. So, if you arrive at the mall at 9 am, you will have missed the bus. Be sure to get there early.

The event is free. Bring your whole family. Bring your own water bottle as well, as there will be no water stations along the run. Wear your uniform if you are part of a running team or walking team, but if not, please try to wear blue or orange, which were Chelsea's favorite colors.

Wristbands for the event will be available for a donation. All the money will go to Chelsea?s Light, which is the official and only organization that Chelsea?s parents, Brent and Kelly King, support.

LOCATION: Rancho Bernardo Community Park. South east corner of Lake Hodges, 1-15 to Pomerado Rd, West on Pomerado Park is 1/4 mile past the freeway on the right.

PARKING: Parking is restricted in the Park. There are limited spaces and there are active ball fields. Event parking is at North County Fair ? Escondido ? At the Via Rancho Parkway on I-15. One mile from the Park. Shuttle Bus from North County Fair ? Busses will run from 7:30am to 8:45am and return starting at 9:30am.
Or you can run from the parking lot:
Run ? From the North County Fair Parking Lot ? Cross Via Rancho Parkway just East of the Freeway. There are two Gas Stations on the south side of Via Rancho. Behind those gas stations is a trail head for the San Dieguito River Park Trail. Take the trail West. Go Under the Freeway and take the pedestrian bridge over the Lake. Once at the other end of the Bridge go right on Pomerado Rd, RB Community Park is on the left. Less than 2 miles from North County Fair to the Park.

RIDE YOUR BIKE ? You can ride your bike directly to the park. From Via Rancho Parkway, head south on I-15 (bikes are allowed). Take the Pomerado Road Exit (you have to exit there on your bike). Turn left (west). The Park will be on your right. We will provide security of some kind for the bikes. Bring your running shoes to me on Friday and I?ll deliver them to the start.
