Is Prison Sexy?

Is how incarceration affects the individual, the family and the community sexy enough to get noticed?

Is the fact that 7 of 10 inmates in California will be re-incarcerated, shocking enough to get attention?

Does the fact that most of the women in prison are there for non-violent crimes and 93% of women in prison have been abused, give you pause to think?

The Inside/Out Project Exhibition says, "YES!"

We see, we hear, we feel, we want to create change in a system that is not working. And we have turned to the people that are the experts of the system—those who have been INSIDE to help create the change.

Please come join us for this interactive evening where you will be able to respond to the art and offer your ideas for change. You will also have the opportunity to hear the artists talk about their work and their process.

I look forward to seeing you!
P.S. If you were with us last month for the opening, this month will have new activities, including getting to hear from the artists. So come again!

What is your perception of someone who is or has been incarcerated?

Doe you have personal experience with incarceration?

Do you have a good understanding of what the system is like? Do you ever give it thought or is it off your radar?

How would you change the system?
