Phantom of the Opera (1925) (Non-Hosted) Silent Film with Organ

Creator of this event: Jenn

I've been meaning to go to these, the Copley Symphony Hall downtown puts on a couple of silent films every year with musical accompaniment. This year, the day before Halloween, see the Phantom of the Opera!

Tickets range from $20 to $30 right now and they are having a costume competition.

Check it out! :)

This is a non-hosted event - so members will not be meeting up.

You can buy tickets online and get more information by clicking this link: Buy Tickets

Below is some more information for folks who are interested (~Robb)

The Phantom of the Opera (1925 Lon Chaney film) with Russ Peck accompanying the film on the Fox Theatre Pipe Organ!

"Lon Chaney’s stunningly memorable performance as the Phantom is a must-see, driving this classic tale of romance and murder. The love-obsessed Phantom haunts the Paris Opera House in pursuit of the woman he desires."

"Note: the sensational and striking imagery of this horror masterpiece may be too intense for very young children."

This is the day before Halloween and there will also be a COSTUME CONTEST! Dress up and enter to win special prizes!

Please keep in mind the San Diego Symphony does not perform.  The film will be accompanied by Russ Peck on the Fox Theatre Pipe Organ only.

I'm so sorry I didn't see any of you all there. It would have been great to meet you! How amazing was that? Did any of you stay form the question and answer after? We were the Ines who asked about horsepower of the organ. So so great! One of the coolest things I've done in SD.

Sorry I didn't see you either, Erin! It was absolutely fantastic! I wish I would have stayed after because I really wanted to ask which piece he was playing when the phantom was bringing Christine down through the cellars on the horse and then in the boat. Loved that piece. This will be coming up again in February (for Thief of Baghdad) and April (for the Silent Film Greats event). Hopefully we'll meet at an event soon. ;)

I get off my job right at 2000! If my situation changes, I will let you all know. I am still so interested in this. My kids went before and loved it.
