I don't know about you, but Thanksgiving bring good smells, delicious food, and relatives you haven't seen in a year. So while they are oohing and aahing about how you look so trim and fit, and then you really bring it home by going for that THIRD piece of pie.........

We have to do some PRE Thanskgiving training. Let's meet at the Iron Mtn. trailhead at 8, with all of your gear and hike in. Going up the trail with all of that weight = extra calories burned. By my calculations, 2 miles to the climbing wall and back is about 1.5 hrs, which is about 450 calories burned, which is justification for that third piece of pie.... or second laddle full of gravy- either way.

If you don't feel like climbing, you can treat it as a training hike and either
1- go up the Iron Mtn. Peak adn back (6 miles round trip)
2- Ramona Outlook (4 miles round trip)
3- Turn around at the sign (3 miles round trip)

and if you climb too...... oh doctor- all bets are off on Thursday.
The only thing is, to climb, you MUST have shoes and harness AND have climbed SEVERAL times already. This mountain is NOT for beginning climbers.
