Bonen-kai: End-of-Year Get-Together Dinner

2009 is almost over! As every year draws to a close, Japanese people get together and celebrate the occasion with BONENKAI parties. BONENKAI (忘年会) literally translates to "forget the year party", and groups of Japanese friends or co-workers will meet up throughout December to eat and drink, especially in order to forget their troubles of the previous year. If you are an avid business person working in Japan, you have to attend at least 5 to 10 BONENKAI business parties. There is a lot of drinking involved. :) For us, let's celebrate BONENKAI, Japanese Meetup Group style! Thanks to the connections of one of our members, we are going to have an awesome meal at Sushi Time, which is located in Lemon Grove. The menu will be fixed and served family style. We have been able to negotiate a price of $20 per person, which includes tax and tip. (Note: soft drinks and alcohol is extra.) We'll be able to finalize the menu once we know a final RSVP count, but we'll try to make it 50% seafood, 50% non-seafood. An accurate RSVP count is very important for this meetup, so we're disabling maybe's. Thanks for your help in this matter! David a.k.a. デービット

Yeah I was wondering if they have meat sushi. If they do can I set next to Bobby? Oh it looks like this meetup is full. Can you guys just wrap up what you don't eat and put it in a doggy bag. I can pick it up from you later at Karaoke. This includes whatever you dont drink aswell. Just put it all the alcohol (no water, soda or milk) in a 2 liter. Paul will provide the 2 liter.

I'm bringing my husband, of course! And we are both really looking forward to going.

Regarding Bobby's comment, there will be some vegetarian options on the table - including fried rice (warning: has egg), salads, vegetable tempura, and some fruit. More information later.

I was just looking at this and was wondering what sort of vegetarian selection will be had?
