Introduction

Minna san, konnichi wa. "Lou" desu. Boku no gogaku wa, nanika chooyaku ga hitsuyoo da kara, Scripps Ranch no Nihongo no kaigi o maishu ni, hirakitatta n desu. Suiyoobi ni, ohima ga attara, doozo, sanka shite kudasai. (see below for translations)

How much time have you spent in Japan and where? Or, if you are Japanese, how long have you been away from Japan?

VietNam no gunjin datta toki, ni kai itta koto ga aru. Sore ato, mata san kai itta koto ga aru. Tokyo no Setagayaku ga yoku shite imasu. Ainku ga, atchi ni sunde imasen deshita. Hi, I'm Lou. Because my studies need some kind of a boost, I've opened the weekly Scripps Ranch meeting. If you have time on Wednesdays, please join in! While being a soldier in Vietnam, I visited Tokyo twice. After that, I went back three more times. I knew Setagayaku pretty well. It's a shame, but I never lived there.

If you are not from Japan, have you studied Japanese? Where?

Ma, ne! Boku no Nihongo no hoo hoo o hanasoo. Daigaku kara, sotsugyoo shita mae ni, go-gaku to kokubun-gaku o yoku benkyoo shita n desu. Jissei wa, CSULB kara, Japanese language no "minor" o totta. Sono choodo koro, jikoryuu de benkyoo shimashita. Well! I'll explain. Before graduating from CSULB, I studied Japanese language and culture. In fact, I received a minor in the language. Since that time, I just studied on my own.

How many Hello Kitty items do you own? (No, posession of Kitty-chan articles is not a requirement of membership.)

Ara! Joodan desu ka? Shikashi, tsuma to mago ga ippai motte imasu. What! Is that a joke? However, my wife and grandkids have a bunch.

Good Morning Lou, I'm sorry but I will not be able to attend tonight's meeting. An unscheduled conflict has happened. I will try and attend another meeting in the near future. Thank you.

I'm a NARUTO fan too! Butr I only watch in Japanese and I am very behind on episodes. Last time I watched was probably in 2006. :-( Do you have copies or know where I can just catch up? I'd like to borrow or watch with someone else who enjoys it (in Japanese, of course). I am a major Hello Kitty fan too and have many items!

Hello Lou! So sorry for the late reply; didn't see your comment there. Uh thank you for the e-mail address but I think it is better for me to meet the person first then to e-mail him. Anyways, I have been busy, Tuesdays and Thursdays are beyond stressful for me, that is why I could not join you. By the way, my e-mail is [masked]. I think you added one extra letter. Anyways, hope to see you soon!
