I am a San Diego native and am planning to do volunteer work in Japan. It would be my first time and I wish to make friends to improve the experience. I hope to see the natural beauty and authentic cultural values. I am from a Latino background. Unfortunately no one in my family is as passionate about Japanese culture and I seek friends and potential career connections. I am majoring in Linguistics and minoring in communications. I plan to transfer to UCSD soon next year and profession as a translator.
I have been studying since I was 2 years old. I have dictionaries, child books, textbooks, manga and videogames to reinforce my learning. I distinctly like the art of speaking and writing the language. Even though I struggle with difficult kanji and translations, I enjoy every second of it. I have formally taken 5 courses in college and wish to continue with conversational supplements. Along with Japanese, I am studying Mandarin and Korean. My goal is to be fluent in 5 languages and to be of service to international companies. I can see myself assisting foreign guests of San Diego feel respected and learn the treasures of the San Diego's unique culture.
ごめなさい, do samurai swords count for membership? Actually I have a caligraphy set, a Second Degree black belt in Karate, 6 favorite Japanese bands, an autographed Polysics jumpsuit, 5 Japanese speaking video games (no english subtitles)!, and a Daruma statue.
皆さん、こんにちは！My name is Jando and I breath for Japanese language and culture. I am a male turning 21 this April and is ready for new experiences and opportunities. I am also interested in East Asian philosophy martial arts karaoke meeting new friends.
