Introduction

Hey Jim, Good to see you at the SDAFF again last night. I was a member before but inadvertently canceled all of my Meetup memberships. I'm a fairly unabashed Japanaphile, having lived there 2 years and left a big chunk of my heart there as well..

How much time have you spent in Japan and where? Or, if you are Japanese, how long have you been away from Japan?

2 years spent in Awajishima while teaching English at a Junior High School in Ichinomiya-cho.

If you are not from Japan, have you studied Japanese? Where?

My studying was almost entirely done in Japan while living there. The rest I've just absorbed watching Japanese films..

How many Hello Kitty items do you own? (No, posession of Kitty-chan articles is not a requirement of membership.)

I used to have 6-8 Hello Kitty New Years dolls from a Makudo special campaign that was running while I lived there. But I think my fiancee at the time left them in Japan.
