Introduction
Hajimimashite, I am just returning to the states from 3.5 years in Japan where I taught ESL in Tochigi and in Hiroshima. One of my customers introduced me to Meetup and I was thrilled to see this group. I love onsens, sho-chu and ramen.
How much time have you spent in Japan and where? Or, if you are Japanese, how long have you been away from Japan?
I lived in Utsunomiya for 1.5 years and just outside of Hiroshima for about 2 years.
If you are not from Japan, have you studied Japanese? Where?
I have studied Japanese while living in Japan. Most of my Japanese ability is in conversational Japanese. I can read most hiragana and katakana. The fact that I can read both forms does not mean that I can understand all that I can read. I know a few frequently used kanji.
How many Hello Kitty items do you own? (No, posession of Kitty-chan articles is not a requirement of membership.)
No Hello Kitty items. Only Anpan-man and Pingu. Please don't ask me how many Pingu items I have.
