Introduction

I've lived in San Diego since 2001. Married with 3 young adult sons. Commute to work downtown from Point Loma by bike. I love sumo, Japanese culture and art, and speaking Japanese.

How much time have you spent in Japan and where? Or, if you are Japanese, how long have you been away from Japan?

I taught English in Nagoya from 1974-1979. As Director of Sales for Japan for several high tech companies, I traveled to Japan monthly for business from 1988- 2007.

If you are not from Japan, have you studied Japanese? Where?

I studied Japanese at Nanzen University in Nagoya for 1 semester in 1974. Thereafter, I studied by myself about an hour a day for about 4 1/2 years. I'm better at speaking than hearing so I need lots of practice.
