Announcing a new Meetup for San Diego Japanese Language & Culture Group!

What: 15th Annual Torrance Natsu Matsuri! (Summer Festival)

When: Sunday, July 11,[masked]:00 AM

Price: $5.00 per person

Where:
Torrance Cultural Arts Center
3330 Civic Center Drive
Torrance, CA 90503
(310)[masked]

From the official site:

It must be summer time when the Bridge USA Festival hits Torrance. Last year, as we walked into the Festival, we were greeted by thundering Taiko drums. Cultural performances, exhibits, Japanese food, and booth games for kids... What more can you ask for in a summer festival???

There will be over sixty booths filled with food, kimonos, and souvenirs. And that's just the tip of the iceberg at this summer celebration, featuring martial arts demonstrations, professional dancers, live music, and a traditional Mikoshi parade.

$5 for adults, $3 for kids.

We will need drivers! If you're willing to drive to Torrance, please indicate so with your RSVP. The current plan is to leave San Diego at 10:00 AM and arrive in Torrance around noon.

This family friendly event attracts many, many people. Expect great culture and tasty food!

It's located in Torrance, known for a thriving Japanese population, with excellent restaurants, bakeries, supermarkets, and other shops. If we're not stuffed from food from the festival, we might plan a side-trip out to some of the hotspots in town.

Hope you come out and enjoy the event. Thanks!
David
