New Meetup: Japanese Study / Shaberu Wednesdays! (Plus: Pocky Day)

From: David H.
Sent on: Thursday, November 5, 2009 12:45 PM
Announcing a new Meetup for San Diego Japanese Language & Culture Group!

NOTE: 11/11 is Pocky Day in Japan (the 1's look like sticks of Pocky), so we will be bringing a bunch of boxes of Pocky to next Wednesday's event. Come enjoy Japan's popular snack with us! We'll have many different flavors available, including the original, of course!

What: Japanese Study / Shaberu Wednesdays!
When: Wednesday, November 11,[masked]:00 - 8:30 PM

Where:
Broadway Coffee
4633 Convoy St
San Diego, CA 92111
(858)[masked]

Every Wednesday, we get together for an informal study session, where you can come to practice English or Japanese, socialize about culture, or just sit back and relax. All skill levels are welcome! New people show up every week, and we all have a great time.

We have been enjoying a real good mix of native Japanese speakers, Americans who have lived in Japan, and many others who are passionate about studying the language and its culture. The result has been an engaging and energizing hour and a half that just flies by.

We meet at a pleasant cafe on Convoy next to Chopstix called "Broadway Coffee". It has a clean interior, free wireless internet, comfortable seating, soothing music, and a menu of assorted coffees, teas, smoothies, salads, and tasty panini. Doesn't sound like a bad way to spend an otherwise unmemorable middle of the week, ne?

Then, around 8:30, we pack up and, for those who are interested, grab a group dinner. After all, we're walking distance to so many fantastic restaurants.

I hope you will join us! Tanoshimini~
David
