Announcing a new Meetup for San Diego Japanese Language & Culture Group!

What: Bonen-kai: end-of-year get together dinner

When: December 29,[masked]:30 PM

Where: (A location has not been chosen yet.)

2009 is almost over!

As every year draws to a close, Japanese people get together and celebrate the occasion with BONENKAI parties.

BONENKAI (忘年会) literally translates to "forget the year party", and groups of Japanese friends or co-workers will meet up throughout December to eat and drink, especially in order to forget their troubles of the previous year. If you are an avid business person working in Japan, you have to attend at least 5 to 10 BONENKAI business parties. There is a lot of drinking involved. :)

For us, let's celebrate BONENKAI, Japanese Meetup Group style! We're going to meet at a Japanese Restaurant on Convoy Street.

The menu and price is fixed, (drinks are separate) so all you have to do is show up, chat, eat, and have a great time!! Because there needs to be an exact count for attendees for the restaurant, I am disabling "maybe" reservations for now.

The cost for the fixed meal will be approximately $22 at most, (includes tax and tip). Once the restaurant has been locked down, their location will be posted. Like mentioned earlier, drinks are going to be separate from the set price.
