Best Practices For The Sole Developer

There is street parking all around.  I assume  that like the rest of downtown it is free after 6pm, but don't hold me accountable.

You will be my Guinea Pigs. :-) This is the presentation that I am giving in May at php|tek. While this presentation may be aimed at sole developers, I would like everyone to help me make this presentation better. I am open to criticism and suggestions from everyone.

Being a sole developer has some pros and cons. I would not recommend it to anyone at this point in my career, but I do know they exist, and companies will be to cheap to hire help. My goal in this talk will be to show you what I wish I would have learned MANY years ago. Use GIT, Test, have a Deployment Strategy, DON'T EDIT PRODUCTION CODE! This talk will give you ideas and guidance to learn more.

John gave a great presentation and the audience had a lot of constructive feedback to which John was very responsive.

Thank you. It was very eye opening for me. And you all gave me so much to think about and great content for me to add to the presentation.

I'm a sole developer for 13 years and can attest to the pros and cons. Looking forward to hearing your perspective and comparing experiences.
