Mushroom AND risotto workshop $39/early bird! 

Join Mushroom expert Chris Young, owner of SoCal Shrooms & Closing the Loop, and risotto expert Claudia F, organizer of San Diego Permaculture. Learn to grow your own oyster mushroom and cook authentic Italian risotto with it. You will leave with a mushroom kit to grow at home, a tummy full of risotto, the ability to cook your next killer meal, and new friends.

All the food will be organic and gluten-free. Risotto is a typical Italian meal made with Arborio rice. Please specify in your order if you want vegan risotto. Yes, that can be done, and it's yummy!

Dinner will be held at Chris' farm - Closing the Loop Farms - in Lakeside. Depending on what is growing at the farm at the time, we may also include other items such as salads and fruits.

Come spend the evening and be a part of a farm being built from the ground up. Chris' farm goes beyond organic and permaculture to a new, complete style of sustainability - closing the loop.


We accept one volunteer who is very well connected in the community and can help us market the event.  Volunteer will enter free in exchange for help with serious marketing and possible set-up and clean up for a total of 4-5- hours. Steps to volunteer:

1. communicate that to us in the comments below

2. get your acknowledgement confirmation as volunteer  

3. Then buy your ticket  

4. Get your formal acceptance as volunteer.  At this point you are really in!

5. We will refund what you paid immediately after you volunteer.  

This way, we can avoid flakes and misunderstandings. If you choose not to volunteer, you already have your ticket. Let us know if interested, and....

      Right now we only accept volunteers that are very well connected in the community and can help us market the event and bring people in. Also, if you bring 5 people in who pay the ticket, you enter free.
