During the January CORE Meeting, Permies attending discussed formalizing SDP by adopting by laws and registering for a Tax ID Number. Permies decided that for the next 6-7 months, an Interim Council will meet monthly.
The Interim Council Members are tasked with deciding:
- if and how SDP will formalize
- to flesh out a clear purpose for San Diego Permaculture
- to write bylaws, if the Council chooses
SDP Interim Council will be posting minutes and future agendas in the discussion section of this meetup group. They look for input and interest from the Permies of this group. During each of the Interim Council Meetings, different sections of potential by laws will be discussed. By laws sections include:
Order of Business
Board of Directors
Records and Reports
By Law Amendments
The council will meet on a monthly basis in different locations.
Every 3 months, a CORE Meeting will be scheduled after the Interim Council Meeting.
All meetings are open to the general membership. Voting is limited to SDP's Interim Council Membership. Discussions will be timed. We ask all Permies who want to participate in discussions at the meetings to read the past meeting minutes in order to be informed about the status of ongoing discussions.
The Interim Council has decided to "try out" this structure to see if this group wants to move forward toward a legal entity. Council member nominations for an elected council will be sought in the next 6-7 months with an election to follow in a reasonable time frame afterwards.
