As we enter into more complex and often challenging times, some of us may recognize that the only thing that can save us is...ourselves. So, how we come together is important. Community is important.
Community literally means "exchanging gifts." Some of us live in collective living situations and reap the rewards of community living this way. And some seek to live this way.
This gathering is a continuation of the mid-December conversation, Uncovering Authentic Community.
For this exploration, we will be invited to connect with others who also are seeking to live collectively (or who already live collectively) and explore the possibility of living intentionally with others. so, we will have the opportunity to share what we know makes intentional community possible and what sustains it.
We will also be invited to look at what it takes to create authentic community and what practices makes that possible.
This event will be an space for any and all conversations for this topic; and the format will allow for everything that people wish to explore to be considered as deeply and for as long as people wish to. A Harvest Document summarizing key ideas from all conversations will be created too. To learn more about the format, see: http://tinyurl.com/openspace-info
Food: please bring a dish and snack to share.
Cost: contributions will be invited to cover costs.
As preparation for this event you are invited to read:
** Authentic Community by integrative psychotherapist Robert Augustus Masters
http://www.masterscenter.net/authentic-community
**Civic Engagement and the Restoration of Community by Peter Block (this is a freely available summary of the book Community: the Structure of Belonging: Changing the Nature of the Conversation)

Note: This gathering will be taking place as part of a larger workshop, an Open Space Technology learning workshop. For more information about this event, see: https://www.facebook.com/events/373822506037064/?ref=14
I really enjoyed meeting all on that day I attended, sorry I couldn't make it again the other day, I've been sick and I totally forgot about it. Look forward to continue talking to my group and making things happen soon hopefully!

Hi all! a few last minute details:
- please plan on arriving by 11:15am on Saturday so that we can start as close to 11:30am as possible.
- Feel free to just let yourself into the house and get settled when you arrive. There will be a sign-in table to self-register.
- Lunch is potluck – what you bring is what we eat!
- Unfortunately, the heating system in the house is not currently working well. So, do bring warm clothing!
- While it is not an absolute requirement, we are encouraged to not wear (outdoor) shoes in the house. So, you might want to bring slippers or other indoor shoes.
